Enchanting Black Seed Dressing

Enchanting Black Seed Dressing

You will be positively charmed by this Enchanting Black Seed Dressing—a delightfully wholesome dressing that is silky, creamy, tangy, and has the perfect hint of natural sweetness. Nigella seeds are a standout in this dressing thanks to their distinct aroma and earthy flavor that has notes of onion, cumin, and oregano. Pour a generous drizzle on top of roasted veggies, salads, grains bowls, or use as a dipping sauce for grilled tofu or tempeh wraps (we are sure you’ll find ways to drizzle it on everything!).

1 cup plant-based yogurt (unsweetened)
1 tbsp tahini
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp black Nigella seeds (see Chef’s Notes)
¼ cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
2 tbsp shallots (roughly chopped)
1 tbsp maple syrup (or date paste, link in Chef’s Notes)
¼ tsp salt (optional)

1

Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until creamy.

2

Taste for additional flavors (more lemon for acidity, more yogurt for tang, more Dijon for Dijon!).

3

Enjoy on salads, grain bowls, or as a veggie dip. Note that you’ll have to mix the dressing manually or reblend after being stored in the refrigerator as the black seeds will settle to the bottom.
