Apple Pie Porridge (Slow Cooker)

Amaranth and teff take the place of oats to add variety and inspiration to your recipe repertoire. Enjoy all that their nutty flavors, plenty of nutrition, and a fun texture to start your day.

½ cup organic teff (rinsed well)
½ cup organic amaranth (rinsed well)
2 cups water
1 cup plant-based milk (unsweetened)
1 cup organic apple (cored and diced)
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg
2 tbsp maple syrup (or date paste, link in Chef’s Notes
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
walnuts (chopped, or other topping of choice, to taste)

Add all ingredients to your slow cooker. Stir well.

Set heat on low and time for 8 hours.

It may be a little clumpy at first after sitting in the slow cooker, but once you stir it well it’ll become nice and creamy!
